Seizing the Means of Distribution since 2005"Small is beautiful" -- E. F. Schumacher Paper Is Bad has been around since 2005ish, when it was founded by a few independent artists from Columbus, Ohio, in the hopes of gradually joining up with more and more artists to accomplish collectively what was out of our individual abilities. In this respect, it's more of a small community of artists than it is the type of homogeneous entity you'd call a "company" or even "record label". We know firsthand that "creative control" is often rendered irrelevant by logistic limitations; not many independent artists can afford to produce 10,000 units and tour for three months at a time. Does that mean their albums aren't worth making? No way! We connect artists with scalable services --- in other words, no project is too small. P.S. We're into working with new collaborators, especially that marvelous breed of artist whose passion for their craft is obscured from the rest of the world only by their timorous attitude toward distribution and promotion. If you love to create and record, but aren't quite braggadocios enough to be your own distro, let us wrap a package around your stuff and feed it into our machine. Send us an email for details.
